Project Showcase: Water SMART Homes & Communities:

Ecosoftt provides wastewater treatment and recycling solutions for homes and communities. These de-centralized solutions enable the homes and communities that are not connected to the water grid have access to clean water for non-potable uses, and discharge wastewater in a way that is non-polluting to humans and the environment.

Water SMART Home

Residential Bungalow

Project Description: A residential bungalow situated in Central India, this facility is off the water grid, and have no access to piped water and public sewers. They get fresh water from water tankers and from the ground and discharge untreated wastewater into nearby water bodies.

Number of people served: 8

Area of Facility:

Solution: De-centralized wastewater treatment system, Poseidon. The Poseidon was set up on the site of the facility. Taking x days to install and set up, it now treats and recycles all wastewater from the house. The recycled water from the system is used for landscaping (do they reuse within the house?) and surplus water is used to recharge groundwater.

High-quality double-storey house with 8 inhabitants. Off the water grid - no access to piped water & public sewers.

Office

Project Description: A residential office situated in Central India, this facility is off the water grid, and have no access to piped water and public sewers. (how they get fresh water, how they dispose of their wastewater. Any ground water depletion?)

Number of people served: 7

Area of Facility:

Solution: De-centralized wastewater treatment system, Poseidon, coupled with rainwater harvesting. The Poseidon was set up on the site of the facility. It is able to treat and recycle all wastewater from the house.

Water SMART Community

University

Project Description: A newly built campus in Central India, this University is far from the nearest city and does not have access to the city’s centralized water and wastewater systems. It is entirely dependent on groundwater and operates under the risk of water shortage and water quality issues due to pollution from untreated wastewater discharge into nearby open water bodies.

Number of people served: 400

Area of Facility:

Solution: De-centralized wastewater treatment system, ABWS. Wastewater from toilets, kitchens, and bathrooms is collected and treated using the ABWS system. The ABWS system took x days to set up. The recycled water from the system is now used for recharging groundwater and for landscaping.

a) Pending SAIT pictures (currently still in construction) – 2 pics of SAIT campus (campus + hostel area) + 1 pic of ABWS system.
b) Caption: Rapidly expanding new college with 400 students.
c) Caption: ABWS collects and treats all wastewater from toilets, kitchens and bathrooms. Recovered water is used for recharging groundwater and landscaping.
d) Caption: Simple to operate, only 1 full-time semi-skilled operator required. Produces revenue-generating by-products (humus & earthworms) that can offset operating costs.
