Imparting some basic engineering principles to Yusoffians.

To apply engineering knowledge, engineers plan and brainstorm about the issues to be solved and how the issues can be tackled. Flow charts, representing the step-by-step process of the proposed solution are usually drawn to describe the different possible actions to be undertaken based on actual circumstances.

Timelines are also drawn to plan a feasible completion schedule of projects, with different milestones to be achieved. This also helps to keep track of the progress, reducing delays.

Side and plan layout are also drawn to visualize concepts and convey these concepts to others for better understanding.

1st AQUA theory lesson with Yusoffians on Rainwater Harvesting and Solar Panel.

Do you know these facts?

- Singapore harvests rainwater on a national scale through the catchments and stormwater channel to meet part of its own needs. Rainwater harvesting is also done on a building and local scale on some buildings to promote self-sufficiency.

- Rainwater harvesting has many benefits, among which includes: total control of your water supply, simple technological requirements and can be easily retrofitted!

- Other than the more widely known advantages of Solar Panels, other benefits includes, being modular - easy to scale up, and the durability of the solar panels - having a lifespan of 20 to 25 years!

Follow us to find out more about how you can better manage water through the various solutions available!

Municipalika Smart & Sustainable Cities conference in Mumbai, 19 May

Marcus Lim chaired a discussion session with water industry experts and spoke on the topic: Sustainable Water Management for India - Inspirations from Singapore.

Singapore and India are vastly different countries but Singapore's development experience offers useful lessons. Singapore is in fact much less well-endowed in water than India. Its per capita renewable water resource is only 10% of what India gets. The keys to water sustainability, and creating a City of Gardens and Waters:
1. Collect every drop of rain
2. Collect every drop of used water
3. Recycle every drop of water more than once

Many sewage treatment plants don't work as per design. They require 24x7 operators on site. Loading of chemicals. Consume a lot of electricity. Generate Noise. Emanate strong foul smell/odour. The quality of treated water is 'suspect' and end up using membranes for polishing with chlorine and backwash etc.

Here I was un-announced.... to one of our own installation. It was meant to be a surprise and yes it truly was one for me. Felt proud of what I saw.

- No Operator or technician on site. System on full auto mode.
- Quality of treated water. No membranes involved.
- Full recovery and reuse of the treated water in a water scarce campus
- Impeccably maintained Log Book, decorated by the lovely daughter of our Technician Mr. Dhananjay Ojha and signed by the client each day to confirm that they are pleased and reuse all the treated water.

And yes, our systems do not generate noise, do not use chemicals. Do not use membranes for final polishing. And are Compact. Lowest energy consumed per cubic meter processed..These are only some of the benefits worth taking note of.

Feel blessed. Thank you Er. Ashutosh Mishra, Mr. Dhananjaya Ojha, Er. Raghunandan Vishwakarma, Mr. Dilip, Mr. Deepchand and Team

What better way to play our part in maintaining an ecological balance? Recover and reuse treated water for non-potable purposes. Store in Rainwater Harvesting Collection Systems for over 10 months of the year. Recharge Ground Water sources via green belt or water cover.

When Testimony based upon facts and first hand assessment matters in a very incestuous market place.

"I am so happy, I visited your sites and witnessed your work first hand. Had we decided on other solutions...we would have regretted immensely. I have visited many sites and received many proposals for over a year, none of the treatment plants I visited were working and were installed for the sake of it.".

The best compliment ever from Chief Projects Coordinator, Mr. Vishwakarma Jamdar Hospital, Jabalpur. An ex AGM, BSNL, Champion of Innovations, Mr. Vishakarma visited two of our sites today after visiting solutions from other providers. He not only looked at the Technology closely, but also reviewed the protocols, check list and invested time with the client direct.

Unique solutions to manage used water i.e. integrate rainwater i.e. diversify and augment sources while not letting untreated sewage contaminate and pollute ground water or surface water bodies. Simple value proposition...going beyond STPs and ETPs etc.

Thank you Edward Francis, Dhananjay Ojha, Er Ashutosh Mishra and Team for demonstrating your passion, exemplary work and commitment towards delivering and maintaining innovations.

The Challenge: Recovery of Sewage from Open Drains in the heart of the city's largest drain. The project was inspected by the local Executive Engineers from the PWD, Damoh & Sagar as well as the office of the Sansad Honorable Prahlad Patel Ji who accepted the idea and initiated the project.

Soft inauguration and inspection for handing over. Executive Engineer, Damoh, Office of the Sansad, Honorable Prahlad Patel and other local stakeholders learn more about innovations that deliver superior results.

The whole area will now be developed into a green belt with indirect recharge of ground water. Most of the recovered water will be used for general non-potable purposes including flushing and cleaning of public toilets that usually do not have water supply or running taps.

Many Urban Local Bodies cannot conceive or get locked into delayed or duplicating DPRs without executing any of them. It takes courage, vision, commitment and passion to pursue projects that deliver real benefits to society, mother nature and above all conserve WATER!

India | Bandakpur | Damoh 120 kms from Jabalpur another compact and highly efficient wastewater treatment system goes live on Maha Shivratri, February 24h, 2017. With this we now have established an enviable position as a Company that can intersect open drains/sewers, treat and give back treated water for reuse (gardens, horticulture, landscaping, construction, public toilets, watering dividers, cleaning roads and other applications).

Team ECOSOFTT, Takes up the ultimate challenge, the Open Drain is simply intercepted and our decentralised innovations take over the sewage and give it back to mother earth as clean as she gave it to us in the first place. Decentralised innovations from ECOSOFTT help restore and maintain the local ecosystem and the ecological balance.

Lower on CAPEX by over 30%, Low on Operations & Maintenance by Over 50%, Sustainable Design, Ideal for local conditions, Small footprint and can be managed by the local institutions with support from a highly qualified and committed Team.

Well done Team Hindustan ECOSOFTT for yet another stellar execution in heart of the city adjoining a Dharamshala and Temple. The Temple Trust fully supported the project under the aegis of Honorable Mr. Prahlad Patel, Sansad in his bid to lead by example under the Aadarsh Gram Project. Damoh has one big open drain that carries over about 100,000 litres of untreated sewage that was contaminating the ground water table, nearby lake and farms.

The area will be developed as a green belt and the treated water will be used for public conveniences especially flushing and other uses.

Omkareshwar | Feb 2017.

Quality of treated water from open drains and open sewer network. It is our duty to keep our rivers sacred and pollution free. Team ECOSOFTT has been blessed with the Task of deploying its innovations to ensure that over 2 million liters of untreated sewage otherwise entering the river at one city alone be treated each day and discharged indirectly via a green belt that will restore the fragile eco-system.

The system and its precincts has already become an attraction for the neighbourhood and religious tourists who are witnessing the development of the green belt, water features and take pleasure in seeing 'real' treated water being discharged indirectly into Maa Naramada.

The treated water is of the highest quality standard at the the lowest energy consumption, no use of chemicals, no sludge generated from the process, high recovery rate and meet all norms from the MPPCB, CPCB, NGT and other regulatory bodies.

Well done Team! We thank the office of the CMO, Directorate of Urban Administration, Public Works Department, MPPCB and a host of other agencies for their support, guidance and the opportunities. Two systems went live. Two more to go live soon.

Namami Devi Narmadey | Narmada Sewa Yatra | Omkareshwar Diaries | February 2017

The holy city of Omkareshwar and Maa Narmada gave Team ECOSOFTT & SAAMARTH in collaboration with BANCO Construction, Gwalior, EDMG, Jabalpur, The CMO, Omkareshwar and Mr. K.K. Shrivastava, Tech Advisor, local Saints, Ashrams and Seers to implement innovations advanced and superior to any outdated and conventional technologies along the banks of the holy river. An estimated 2 million liters of sewage flows into the river through countless drains.

Through superior design, innovations and commitment of our Teams on the ground, our first plant completed 9 months of operations delivering spectacular results. For e.g. Incoming COD: 800 mg/L down to less than 20 mg/L. BOD 180 mg/L down to less than 5mg/L. The same for other parameters as per CPCB norms.

Sant Ram Das from the Paiyhaari Ashram joined us too and gave a very touching account of his happiness with this project. The Paiyhaari Ashram donated land to make this possible. The Ashram is extremely proud and supportive of the project and are working closely with Team ECOSOFTT, SAAMARTH and The Chief Municipal Officer to develop the first in a series of plants as a model and showcase.

Renowned Pt. Sudhir Atrey JI who lives 10 meters away from the plant, said something very powerful. "I live less than 10 meters away from this Sewage Treatment Plant and do not get any foul odor, noise or there is no nuisance. The treated water is very good and is being used to develop a green belt along the banks".

Some pics from our recent visit during the Namami Devi Narmadey, Narmada Sewa Yatra by our Chief Minister and other dignitaries.

Well done Team ECOSOFTT & SAAMARTH together with BANCO, EDMG, KK Sir, Mr. Sanjay Jhawar. We thank The UADD, Bhopal & Indore, PWD, Khandwa, MPPCB and Office of the Chief Municipal Officer for awarding this once in a life time opportunity. From here we can only scale up.

OMKARESHWAR | Transformation Of Sewage To Swachch Jal.

We take sewage from open drains at Omkareshwar and treat it to superior levels compared to any conventional solution. It is not just about the technology, it is also about social and environmental impact in the long term.

"Sewage to Swachch Jal" is based upon one of our founding principles. Take clean water from mother earth, use it respectfully and carefully and then give back only clean water". There is no equation that can be balanced where on one side, we keep taking clean and other other side only give back sewage or used water.

Our teams and associates work collaboratively with the administration, the communities and other stakeholders to ensure that our international know how is well adapted to the local wisdom, lifestyles, behaviours and more. Simply taking a technology and executing it does not guarantee success. We invested a lot of time to understand the city, its inhabitants, ways of living and water habits.

Over 150,000 inhabitants, 50,000 daily tourists and on some days of the religious calendar the influx peaks to 500,000 visitors.

Mahant Ram and other Sant's from the acclaimed 'Paiyhaari Ashram' at Omkareshwar, participated in the auspicious 'Pooja'. They even donated a part of the their land, took care of our team and supported wholeheartedly the first in a series of projects.

The venerable Mahant was very conversant with traditional water conservation methods. He took time and even went up to the BioReactors to see how the nature based process works. The Ashram will continue to work with Team ECOSOFTT & SAAMARTH in the areas of embankment repairs, green corridors and solid waste management.

All were very impressed with the quality of treated water.

20 years ago, Omkareshwar was serene and idyllic for meditation, prayers, discovering oneself and more. Today over 150,000 inhabitants, live here, over 50,000 pilgrims come here everyday and over 500,000 visitors visit on special days of the religious calendar.

Yet another innovation from ECOSOFTT goes live at Omkareshwar's Vruddha Ashram on June 28th, 2016.

Starting with 150,000 liters of sewage, we will be treating over 2.5 million liters per day for the city of Omkareshwar.

All the sewage from major and minor drains that flow directly into the Maa Narmada at Omkareshwar will be treated daily. No more contamination and pollution of the Holy River.

We took up the challenge in November 2015. Work started in February 2016. One system activated. Four more to go.

A Water Smart Community at Rampur Tola that excels in water and its management end to end.

Imagine a community that has no open drains, all sewage is collected, recycled, treated and reused???? Most of us give a #@%*.

A fully containerised solution for used water (sewage) from homes i.e. from toilets, bathing rooms, kitchens and more.

People in cities can learn more and do more to conserve water. Reminder- Drinking water is only 2-3% of our daily footprint of 100 odd litres. Our virtual water footprint is more than 10,000 litres per day. From the first cup of tea or coffee in the morning, the car you drive, to the hand cream you may apply before you go to sleep. Most of our activities involve water one way or the other.

An innovation from ECOSOFTT!
1. Containerised and Compact
2. Can treat up to 15,000 litres per day.
3. No sludge generated from the process
4. No odour
5. No chemicals added
6. No dedicated manpower required
7. Low energy consumption
8. Works despite of power outages and minimal loads
9. Best in class effectiveness and efficiency
10. All weather consistent.

Clean & Green India Summit | New Delhi | April 7th & 8th, 2016

Solid and liquid waste management are undoubtedly the corner stones for a Clean and Green India. It is clearly an area of focus and priority across sectors. In the Indian context, this is a journey or race with no ‘finish line’. On the ground, various solutions, best practices and business models have emerged. In some areas, we see some cases of dramatic turnarounds. In many other cases the situation is only worsening owing to delays and at best inaction. Progress is visible in the space of solid waste management. Sewage or liquid waste management is still largely left to traditional approaches and conventional systems that either don’t work or are fraught with gaps in implementation. The current solutions are infrastructure based, require large investments and are always on a catch up mode. Conventional solutions are neither economically viable nor financially attractive. They are difficult to maintain, upgrade or even retro-fit. Some models within the PPP (Public-Private-Partnership) have been tried with mixed results. We shared ECOSOFTT’s journey, highlighted opportunities for social enterprises in the Clean & Green India movement with a specific focus on water and used water management. Our goal was to engage with young leaders to join hands on addressing the water challenge. The response was overwhelming.
